My fees are straightforward, no packages to buy and no pressure to commit to a course of treatment in advance.
Initial consultation, examination and treatment: £75
Subsequent treatments (30 minutes): £65
For patients with complex or multiple problems I also offer extended sessions:
Extended treatment (45 minutes): £90
Extended treatment (60 minutes): £115

How much does a course of chiropractic treatment cost?
Total cost of a course of chiropractic treatment depends on what you are being treated for and how long you have had the condition.
As a guide, because that is what you are asking for, a straightforward recent episode of low back pain often resolves in four to six visits, which puts a typical total at around £270 to £400 including your first appointment. More recent injuries or complaints may take fewer appointments in total, therefore reducing the total cost and long-standing or more complicated problems can take longer. I will always give you a personal estimate after your examination and I will revise it if you are progressing faster or more slowly than expected.

Explaining my price structure
Private chiropractic fees across the UK typically range from around £40 to £100 per treatment session depending on appointment length, the location of the clinic geographically and the experience of the practitioner. Many chiropractic follow-up appointments run for fifteen to twenty minutes. Appointments here are a full thirty minutes, half an hour, which gives proper time for assessment, a detailed conversation and treatment rather than just a quick adjustment. My prices sit within that national price range and you can decide for yourself if the extra time that I offer makes the differences worth it for you.
I offer you thirty-nine years of chiropractic experience in private practice. I qualified in 1987 and spent thirteen years in London running my own clinic with satellite practices in Covent Garden and returned to Bournemouth in 2000, where I have practised ever since. I am registered with both the General Chiropractic Council and the British Chiropractic Association. When you book here, you see me every time, no locums or associates. This detail matters more than people expect. I do not say any of this to suggest that my fees should be higher than other chiropractors. I say it so you can judge for yourself whether my prices are fair.
I do not run a block booking discount and that is a deliberate choice. A discount for buying more sessions creates a financial incentive to keep treating you and I do not want, need or approve of that incentive. You pay for each appointment as you go and you stop paying the moment you no longer need to come.
Claiming on your Private Health Insurance
Most private health insurance policies will reimburse you for chiropractic treatment with a GCC-registered chiropractor. Over the years I have treated patients insured with BUPA, AXA Health (formerly PPP), Simplyhealth and many others. Cover depends entirely on your individual policy, so it is worth checking with your insurer before your first appointment. I do not invoice insurers directly, but I will happily provide the receipts and paperwork you need to claim reimbursement.

Work based Employee Welfare Schemes
Bournemouth Chiropractic provides workplace chiropractic treatment programmes for a range of local employers. Over the years I have worked with companies including Nationwide (formerly Portman), Liverpool Victoria, Bournemouth Borough Council and JP Morgan, who have introduced and promoted chiropractic care to their staff.
Employers usually call this an Employee Welfare Scheme and promote it through the company intranet. Chiropractic care is offered as an approved external healthcare service, helping staff recover from injury and, from the employer’s point of view, potentially reducing time off work.
Several local companies financially supplement treatment or have negotiated a discount programme for their employees with the clinic. Check whether your employer has a scheme in place. If not, ask them to contact me directly on 01202 937568 to discuss setting one up.
