Booking in for a Free Chiropractic Consultation
and why these appointments can be such a useful thing
By Leslie Budzynski DC ~ BCA Registered Chiropractor (BCA Reg. No. 0072) since 1987 & GCC Registered Chiropractor (GCC Reg. No. 00043) since 1999 | Bournemouth Chiropractic explains the opportunity to book in for a free chiropractic consultation, what it entails and how it can help you proceed forward.
That pain that has been troubling you needs sorting out, where do you start? Sometimes you have done in depth and thorough research online, it can be confusing and you soon feel swamped with facts. It is a really good idea to find and read the reviews for a clinic, look at the photos and get a general impression and yet you still hesitate. That is completely understandable. Chiropractic is hands on and personal and remembering if you’re in pain, then you can feel quite vulnerable, it matters who you see.
The free chiropractic consultation at here at Bournemouth Chiropractic exists precisely for this purpose. It can offer you a clearer perspective and help you feel more in control. It is a chance to come in, meet Leslie in person, see the clinic on Branksome Hill Road, ask whatever is on your mind and make an informed decision about whether chiropractic treatment is right for you with absolutely no obligation and no charge.
We see patients from all the surrounding areas including Lilliput, Sandbanks, Talbot Woods, Canford Cliffs and Westbourne.
What Does the Free Consultation Involve?
The free 15-minute consultation is an informal, no pressure conversation, it does not include an examination and is not a treatment session. It is simply an opportunity to:
- Explain what has been going on and how long it your particular issue has been a problem
- You can ask any questions you have about chiropractic, the treatment process or what to expect during your sessions and your course of treatment
- You will get a professional, honest view on whether chiropractic is likely to help your specific situation
- See the clinic and get a feel for the environment and the person who will be treating you, Leslie. A face to face meeting is so much more use than a phone call

“I will listen carefully, answer your questions directly and give you my honest assessment. If chiropractic is not the right approach for you, I will tell you that clearly and suggest the most appropriate next step. If it is then we can discuss what a course of treatment would look like including approximate timescales, frequency of visits and costs before you commit to anything” says Leslie
There is nothing to sign, no commitment required and no pressure whatsoever. You can find out more about how chiropractic treatment works before you arrive if that helps you. I see a wide demographic of patients who travel from across the BCP area, from local areas including Ashley Cross, Whitecliff, Branksome Park, Parkstone and Penn Hill and Branksome.
Who Is the Free Consultation For?
Everyone is welcome, new patients and existing ones who have a new or recurring issue arise.
New patients who have never seen a chiropractor before are the most common people who book one of these free consultations opportunities. If you have been recommended by a friend or found the clinic through an internet search and want to find out more before booking a full appointment, this is exactly the right place to start. Our post on what to expect at your first chiropractic visit also answers many of the practical questions new patients might have. More questions the better and as they say, there is no such thing as a silly question. If you want to know something then please ask and this can include number of visits and costs of treatment.
Existing patients who haven’t been in for a while are equally welcome. Perhaps you have a new problem, a different area of pain or something has changed and you want some fresh advice. The free consultation works perfectly for this too.
People who are simply curious about chiropractic whether for general health maintenance, sports performance, before or after travelling for a holiday or because someone they know has benefited are also more than welcome. Come and have a look round the clinic and a conversation. There is no expectation beyond that.
The most common conditions that bring people through the door include back pain, neck pain, headaches and migraines, shoulder and arm pain, hip and pelvic pain, leg and foot pain and sporting injuries. But you do not need a diagnosis or a specific complaint to book that is what the consultation is for. You can really just come and gather information.
Why Offer this Opportunity at All?
I know from 39 years of practice that many people delay getting help far longer than they should, not because they don’t want to feel better, but because they are uncertain. Uncertainty as to whether chiropractic can help them, uncertain about what it involves or simply uncertain about committing to something new. The free consultation removes that barrier entirely.
It also reflects how I like to work. I want every patient who comes to Bournemouth Chiropractic to feel fully informed and genuinely comfortable from the outset and in control of their own health and outcomes. Starting with a conversation like this is the right way to begin.
The evidence base for chiropractic care has never been stronger. NICE Guideline NG59 recommends manual therapy, including spinal manipulation by a chiropractor, as a first-line treatment option for low back pain. The WHO’s 2023 guidelines similarly place non drug, hands on approaches at the centre of musculoskeletal care. Read more about the international evidence in our earlier post on WHO guidelines for back and neck pain treatment. The free consultation is simply the logical first step into that care.

What Happens After the Chat with Leslie?
After the free chiropractic consultation, you decide what you would like to do entirely on your own terms. Book or go and have a think about it or see what others say. The options are:
- Book a first full appointment — if you are ready to get started. The first appointment includes a full case history, physical examination and in most cases an initial treatment. Full details of what to expect at your first visit are on a dedicated post written in another article to give you all the information you might need.
- Go away and think about it — I won’t pester you, so follow up calls, no pressure. Take as long as you need to decide exactly whats right for you and what you would like to do. As I said., no obligation, no awkwardness.
- Take some advice and leave — if chiropractic is not right for you, you will leave with a clear idea on where what your next steps might be.
The free consultation is genuinely free. There is no hidden charge, no commitment by attending and no expectation of booking further appointments.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is the free consultation really free?
Yes, completely. There is no charge for the 15-minute consultation and no obligation to book any further appointments. It is a genuine opportunity to meet Leslie, see the clinic and make an informed decision without any financial commitment.
Will I be examined or treated at the free consultation?
No, the free consultation is a conversation, not an appointment. There is no examination, no chiropractic treatment and no need to get changed. It is only a chance to discuss your situation, ask questions and get a professional view on whether chiropractic is appropriate for you. If you decide to proceed then your full first appointment is booked separately.
How long does the free chiropractic consultation last?
Fifteen minutes. It is a conversation, enough time to cover your main concerns, ask the questions that matter most to you and get a clear sense of whether chiropractic can help.
Can I bring someone with me?
Absolutely. You are welcome to bring a partner, family member or friend. There is space for them to wait in our waiting room or to sit in on the consultation with you if you prefer. Many patients find it helpful to have someone with them, it’s another pair of ears, particularly if they have a lot of questions.
What if chiropractic is not right for me?
I will tell you clearly and promptly. If your condition is outside chiropractic scope, if it requires medical investigation or would be better addressed by another practitioner, I will say so and I will point you in the right direction. Attending the free consultation never commits you to anything and you will always leave better informed than when you arrived.
I have had chiropractic treatment before elsewhere, is the free consultation still for me?
Yes. Whether you have seen a chiropractor before, whether it helped or not, whether you are looking for a new practitioner closer to home or whether you simply want a fresh assessment then that is why the free consultation is open to everyone. Previous chiropractic visits is always useful context and I will factor it into the conversation.
